What K-pop has taught me~

  • DBSK: Taught me to never loose my inner child, and to never give up on the ones I care about. They taught me that even if you loose them, in the end, never loose hope that they will come back. If it's meant to be, you will meet again.
  • Super Junior: Taught me that a family will always be a family, whether they be friends or relatives. It doesn't matter if someone leaves, for they will always be one. "If you count up the one's we've lost, we are thirteen stars." -Leeteuk
  • SHINee: Taught me that it's okay to fuck up. Just keep going, and fuck up with confidence *coughcough*onew*coughcough* <3
  • SNSD: Taught me that looks aren't everything. Yes, being beautiful, slim and downright sexy helps... a LOT... but that can't make up an idol. Personality and talent also play a major role. They taught me that if you try hard enough, you can even make the anti's love you.
  • F(x): Taught me that it's cool to be a little off. You don't have to be the most feminine person in the world. You don't have to dance around in shorts that leave nothing to the imagination to be seen as cool. You can wear jeans, a teeshirt, and a jacket and still be awesome.
  • Big Bang: Taught me to have the mindset of "Fuck what everyone thinks about me." I've just learned not to care about others opinions. It's alright to be original and to expiriment. It's okay to make mistakes, and no matter how hard something gets, you call always pull back. It's your life, and you only live it once; live it the way you want to.
  • Boyfriend: Taught me that even if you grow up, you're never too old to be cute. However, it's also possible to be a sexy-badass while being cute.
  • TeenTop: Taught me that you should always appreciate they friends you have by your side, because they care about you. Sure, they may hit you with a mallet every once and a while, but they mean well.
  • Block-B: Has taught me to be strong in the face of opposition. No matter how badly you messed up, it's alright. Be strong, and press forward, because the ones that truely love you will never leave your side.
  • 2NE1: taught me that even if I'm not the most beautiful person out there - even if I'm not beautiful at all- I can still be the best.
  • U-Kiss: has taught me to appreciate everything I have. Even if you are not recognized for what you do, you must press on and keep trying your hardest. Because self recognition is better than any award you could ever give me.
  • Kpop: has taught me to be free. To be my own person. To brush off the small stuff, and roll with whatever life deals to me. If I hadn't of listened to Mirotic all that long time ago, I wouldn't have found out these things, and I certainly wouldn't be able to apply them. I'm a stronger person now BECAUSE of kpop, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Kpop update

So I haven’t done this in a long time. I have been so busy that when I have free time I spend it on other things. I don’t even keep up with kpop as much as I used to.

I have decided that I am going to just talk about a few videos instead of my overly organized reviews. (plus I don’t think anyone really every reads it anyways) Plus I’ll add in links to reviews done by Eat Your Kimchi since I would feel redundant if I reviewed the same music videos.

The first video I am going to talk about is this new group called Nu’est. They just came out this month with their debut called face. This song is different from most kpop songs. And it is no surprise since it was meant to be that way.

Here is the description of Nu’est.

Urban Electro Band NU’EST

The 5-member boy group NU’EST is making their debut with their album [FACE] in March 2012, having already received astonishing reactions and secured fans from varying age groups through their diverse television appearances and events prior to their debut.

NU’EST stands for ‘NU(New), Establish, Style, Tempo’, signifying how they are creating a new style to the music. Composed of members JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren, NU’EST is at the center of attention for their outstanding musical skills as well as perfect visuals, seeking to take over the K-pop scene with their unique color, style, and music.

Face has a European sound and that is of course because it was composed by a Swedish person. I don’t know about you but I love European music so combining two of my favorite types of pop makes me ecstatic. Warning though if you don’t like dubstep then this song may not be for you. It isn’t in the entire song but there is a little break where they do play some dubstep. I believe that this group has great potential and I love not only their dancing and singing but their overall vibe is terrific.

Next is Exo-K with History. Exo is also a new group that debut this year from SM Entertainment. Now everyone is getting bored of their (many many many) teasers and prologue songs…which I have to say doesn’t make sense since a song is a song.  Anyways even with all the useless hype Exo is talented without a doubt.

For those who don’t know Exo. Exo is like Suju in that there are subgroups. Exo is divided into Exo-K (for Korean) and Exo-M (for Mandarin). Both subgroups have 6 members and all are very awesome. I personally like Exo-M better for some reason but Exo-K is growing on me.

Here is their new song (I think) History:

Then there is LYn with LoveFiction. Now I wish I could tell you all about LYn but I can’t. I don’t know her and personally I don’t get to know solo artist especially since she sings ballads. This was release like 7 hours ago it is a new mv I believe…(idk Leon Entertainment is sometimes slow with their releases)

This is a sweet slow song. Sounds like this song could be used for a OST of a drama. Like most ballads there is no dance and the video mostly contains scenes of her just siting or standing singing in very peaceful settings. Like the all white room or a corner that glows from the candles surrounding her. I thought it was a nice song and I if you know me I don’t like ballads but this one I can see myself listening to over and over again. It is a song that will grow on you.

Bohemian’s Don’t Be Sick is another slow song but it is very depressing. This is a mv you can’t take your eyes off for a second. Seriously I didn’t even want to miss a mil-second of this video. The video is a drama form and it compliments the song beautifully. Just watching it once I had tears in my eyes.

The video is about this sick girl (mentally) and she has a lover who comes by to take care of her. You can tell he loves her deeply. But because he loves her so much he won’t let her out into the real world afraid she will get hurt or lost. So he traps her in the little apartment. One day she tries to get out while he is gone…and she succeeds. Goes out to explore the streets (nearly getting run over) thus when the guy comes home she is gone. Deeply upset he rush out to find her. When he does he finds her in an abandon closet. He takes her home yet when they  arrive home it isn’t a shocker that she is angry he won’t let her out into the real world. She shoves him away as he tries to hug her but in doing so makes her piss. In rage grabs the kitchen knife and stabs him a couple of times. He dies crying and she falls to the ground looking at her blood stain hands. The video ends with her walking off in the streets of Seoul.
